We have recently had the great opportunity to visit the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research located in Darmstadt, Germany.

One of the top contributors to physics, medical science and heavy ion research, it is one of the most important and largest research centers in the World.

Several chemical elements, such as bohrium and darmstadtium, were discovered at GSI and we had the chance to see the original LINAC (still in full operation) and its control room.

In the near future, GSI as a whole is bound to be even larger and more important with new research facilities, such as the FAIR accelerator, under construction.

FAIR will provide the unique opportunity to scientists and physicists to study the evolution of the universe since the Big Bang.

A big thank you to GSI for the wonderful insight and kind welcome and we wish every success for the ongoing and upcoming studies!
