DESY is one of the world's leading research centers for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. The new project, the European XFEL, is under construction and set up at the DESY ground in Hamburg, within the frame work of the international  EXFEL collaboration. DESY provides in total 400 so called helium tanks for the EXFEL project, which are acting as a cryo vessel and surrounding the superconducting accelerator resonators. This helium tanks have a high request to mechanical precision and welding technologies. Working conditions at -271°C at 4bar and the material Ti grade 2 needs special effort to full-fill the requirements of the pressure equipment directive (PED). The company CSC was qualified as a supplier of helium tanks and an order of in total 272 units was placed at CSC in Italy.  CSC was, as one of the first companies in the competition on the contract, able to produce an almost perfect prototype in a short time and with impressing quality. Also the aspects of PED regulations have been respected by CSC in an excellent way. The preparation and realization of a series production was always uncomplicated and effective. Working together with Mr. Pamato as the project leader at CSC is still a pleasure. The series production is still running smoothly with very constant quality and quantity. I am looking for more interesting and fruit full projects that can be managed together with CSC and Mr. Pamato.

In the framework of the Isolde project, we require pieces of refractory metals such as Tantalum and Molybdenum for our radioactive isotope production. CSC has been providing us for years with quality products and we are very satisfied with the collaboration with this dynamic young company.

For many years the SPES project of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN- National Nuclear Physics Institute) has been collaborating with national and international companies for the construction of new equipments and the supply of high-tech components. One of these companies is CSC, which contributed to the development and construction of components that are unique from a technological viewpoint. The refractory materials used for this purpose include Tantalum, Molybdenum and Rhenium. I am very pleased with the targets achieved along with this important Veneto company.
